As I mentioned earlier on Tuesday, I took a new position in silver miner EXK...

I can't be absolutely sure, but when I have seen this set up before where the 100 and 200 day lines are right on top of each other and the 50 day is rising toward them and the price is squeezed between these lines, I believe I have seen the price pop to the upside more often than not....and notice that price has cleared the down-trend channel that was in control of EXK's price for many weeks.

if my directional call is right,  then EXK could be ready to pop higher? Notice that the Fast RSIs are rising, indicating pressure is to the upside in the current move....well, let's see if I guessed right on this one....?

MILITARY DEFENSE STOCK, KTOS, EDGED UP 9 CENTS ON TUESDAY....

I am currently not in a position with this one, but I am tempted to get in if the current breakout can hold...notice the lower wick dips the past couple days to try and shake the trees of investors....

I am still sitting on 2 puts on HYG, the junk bond fund ETF....

it's hard to see on this long chart, but the last two days have generated two black candles in a row...

My puts have gained value the last couple days, and I am still in the trade....

SHARK....Those ANAL-ysts are a hoot! They raised their price targets to $8, $9 or $10.....?

The current price is $11.63...lol!

Well, I dunno if I should just take quick profits on the chance those analysts are right about their price targets?

Or should I listen to what my charts are saying and hold on for further gains?

BTW, my 2 calls are up 55% this morning with the underlying price higher by 12.4%.....my only regret was the 3rd call I sold on Monday at a tiny profit....I would have a bigger profit right now if I had held that 3rd call.

WEll, once AMD's price got to $12.12, I decided that was close enough to my price target of $12.25....

I wasn't going to fuss around over a few pennies....I sold my 2 remaining calls on AMD @ $2.55 per share.

So, over the last two days, I took profits on 3 $10 calls for a total sale of $669.00...

The original purchase price of the 3 calls was $417.00...

So, the gross profit on my AMD trade is $252.00....the percentage gain is 60.4%....not bad a for a few days' trade!

ARTX approach 50 sma - looks like another good entry point.  This was one you mentioned Ace in January.  Thoughts on this Lithium play as I recall?

NUGT spiked higher by 75 cents within minutes of the Fed statement at 2 pm ET.....the Fed did not signal an interest rate increase on March 15th as some pundits had speculated on....therefore, gold is stronger as the US dollar weakens...

Disclosure: i am holding 2 NUGT calls purchased yesterday.

Hi PNG, I still have a position in ARTX, but it cut it down by 40% on Monday due to the sharp pullback.....

Yes, I will need to look at the chart for the 50 sma and any other signs of stability.....maybe now is the time to enter (or increase a position) but I need to see the chart....

Yes, google the words "lithium shortage" and readers will discover the situation is acute...and with Tesla now powering up their Gigafactory, the demand for Lithium is only going to ramp up. If anyone has some other Lithium stocks, please share the symbols with us...I like ARTX because they have an active Lithium business....but this is not a pure play as ARTX also has a military defense products unit.

Good observation on MACD signal.... By the way, KTOS has a SCTR score that is up there with NVDA and AMD....in other words, http://www.stockcharts.com has put a very high quantitative trend value on KTOS....

Stocks with a 97 or higher score tend to keep trending higher and often have successful breakouts....KTOS could be on the cusp to a run similar to those of NVDA and AMD????

Google "zinc shortage" ... when I wanted to look at stock "ZINC" a couple days ago ~ symbol was not "found" at Stockcharts.com ... but a Canadian company said that there is a zinc shortage because a number of zinc mines have shut down around the world ...

SUMMATION INDEX - "SELL THE MARKETS" SIGNAL!

Okay, I am the first to admit that the Sell Signal generated by the Summation Index ($NYSI) hasn't worked real well lately, and that can be explained by the virtue of the strong bull trend....when you get a strong trend, and then a counter-reaction by the $NYSI cycle, then the selling won't be real strong-- rather, there will be more of a pause or small pullback...

This being said, you never know when the big correction may come...

For me, the sell signal is when the RSI falls out of the overbought zone (and down-crosses the 70 mark)...and today, it did just that, with the RSI finishing at 69-and-change.

So, what will happen tomorrow and the next day and the ones after that? Will selling be hard and furious, or light and gentle? In the immortal words of one Slammin' Sam, let me just say that "time will tell."[idea]

THE RUSSELL 2000 MAY BE OFFERING US A HINT OF WHAT IS TO COME....?

Look at the $RUT daily chart....the candle on Wednesday reversed and ended up down with a tail on top...

That candle closed almost dead on to the critical 50 sma line....indeed, $RUT has been struggling with the 50 line the past few days, and Wednesday's candle was not showing a favorable short term trend....

So will $RUT fall through the 50 day line?

That seems quite possible to this observer, so I would again echo the immortal words of Slammin' Sam who often said..."Only time will tell."

Wow! Shark, you found a whole mess of them! The only other Lithium symbol I could think of was LTUM....thanks! I will review each of them to see if I can find a sleeper both fundamentally as well as technically.

As for ZINC, I think they went bankrupt, which might explain why you can't find a symbol...however, you are entirely right about a zinc shortage....Barron's did a big story on the low supplies of zinc around 2 years ago...and at that time, ZINC was their number one pick in the category.... Click the link for Barron's

http://www.barrons.com/?r=1

Later, in a follow-up, Barron's admitted that they didn't fully see the meltdown by ZINC that was coming....

At any rate, it might be wise to try and find a zinc stock or too? [thumb]

GOLD, SILVER AND PLATINUM ARE PUSHING HIGHER IN ASIAN TRADING...

The US $ is slipping again....

Platinum is showing especially strong strength....Platinum has now pushed to over $1,000 the ounce for the first time in a while...

I continue to hold a position in platinum miner IMPUY....

I also am holding recent new purchases in NUGT and EXK.

US futures are in the RED....

Dow at -65....Nasdaq at -21....

Markets are getting nervous with student riots at UC Berkeley, heightened tensions with Iran and Trump's rather angry phone exchange with Australia's prime minister.

Here is the EXK daily chart...it started to push through the 100-200 day junction on Wednesday...if the pop in silver prices can hold over night, then I would expect EXK to pop up higher above that junction on Thursday and the 50 day line should continue to drive thru the 100 and 200 day lines in the days ahead....and notice that price has lifted up out of the down-trend channel, which is a bullish sign for longer term traders....

A big IF, I do admit for precious metals to keep going higher....for instance, the JOBS REPORT is this Friday, and many pundits are expecting a big number, and a big number will raise fears of a FED RATE HIKE in March rather than June as most believe now....and a March rate hike would put pressure on precious metals if the Jobs Number is a big one....

But what if it isn't? After all, the Transports Index has slipped recently, hinting that the economy may be cooling off....

SHARKY....HERE'S ONE FOR YOU...!  [biggrin]

This sure looks to me like a classic blood low on gold miner NGD that occurred on Tuesday....a big two day drop with the heaviest volume on the second day (Tuesday) and then the long wick on the bottom suggesting that the snap back had begun on that day...and all of this occurring outside the standard Bollingers....

Then it continued to recover on Wednesday with a nice pop....but it looks to me like the recovery has a long way to go....I am tempted to jump on board on Thursday morning if I can time it right....

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>> and are setting up a pilot plant to extract Lithium with their patented process ,,, which reduces recovery times for extracting Lithium & other minerals from 18 months to 1 DAY !!!!! ,,, when compared with conventional Lithium extraction ...

and Ford (F) ~ GM ~ HMC ~ PCRFY ~

NGD ,,, ACE ,,, NGD & TGD have been two of my favorite gold miners for years ... probably because they had low prices ...

I haven't studied NGD fundamentals in quite awhile ,,, TGD is producing gold nicely ,,, and almost has another mine coming on line ... I was researching TGD a couple weeks ago ...

NGD ,,, is a "broken stock" on your chart ,,,, support didn't hold and the drop was not "orderly" but explosive ,,, you are right that RH System players may be buying the RH now ... with where the most recent drop began ='s the 50ma at about $3.68 as their take profits target ...

but after we did two blood buy test lists on Penny Board a few months ago ,,, we  found that MOST of the blood buys didn't recover for months ='ed poor odds of success playing them in our two paper trade blood test lists then ... so play if want to - but be aware of the risks ...

I would research what caused the trap door to open and price to fall ,,, is that fixable by the company ???

What we learned from watching the two blood test lists stocks every day for two months straight(the test period back then) ,,, greatly changed my view of the odds of playing blood lows ...

p.s. ,,, price likes to recover back inside the BB(20,2) lower band http://schrts.co/l8gGks TENX example ... the further the drop below the lower BB band ='s the better the short covering pop back play usually IMO ...

http://schrts.co/EVqdfy INO $6.68 ... count back 10 days & 13 days ,,, back end effect should help 10ema rise next 3 days + ,,, and 13ema rise next 5 days + ... what caught my eye when I opened this chart ~ was that price is holding at the top of the bullish huge WC ... where are the bears ???

and Jan.5 is 20 days back ... back end effect will now start helping the 20ma front end to rise ...

BOT computer programs know this ,,, and seem to have recently positioned for it IMO ...

post date ,,, 2-2-2107 Thursday 10:50am ct ... let's see what the average lines do in the White Space through next week ...

Hi Shark....

Yes, thanks for sharing the risks inherent with buying off blood lows....I am avoiding NGD for 2 reasons today....one is the black candle it shows today, even though that candle is higher than yesterday....the second reason is tomorrow's Jobs Report....the fear is that the jobs number will be large (and today's ADP report hints at that)....if the jobs number is a big one, that will likely sink gold stocks for a spell....

In fact, I have been trying to jettison at least one of my two NUGT calls today while I can claim a small profit, but the machines keep playing games with my asking price....geesh!

Also, thanks for that Lithium stock...I had heard of some small company having access to the lithium deposits nearest the Tesla gigafactory, but I could not locate the symbol....I think you just found it! Thanks.
