Lil Shark:  My mistake.  You are correct.....that was not my intention.  I gave up being a newsletter writer many years ago.  I did exactly what you said - I bot my own recommendations and have done very well.  I really meant that the lurkers (& anyone else) could go ahead and buy the stox I was recommending.....and then I said they should always use stop-losses.....just in case.  The average investor doesn't use stops and most of them don't sell short either.  Have a good weekend!  The next few months going into October should be interesting......to say the least.......Slammin Sam

Lil Shark/Doc/Ace:  IQ opened today around 29.60.....going straight up!  I wonder if Da Boyz read my comment on IQ?  The problem with things going straight up.....when they turn.......they go straight down.  Anyway.....IQ looks like a good stock......long term.  I remember waaayyyy back when FB was in the 20's.  I liked it then (long term).....and look where it's at now.  As far as today's mkt goes.....the TICK was in oversold territory.....indicating the mkts would rally today.....right on schedule.....so far.

Hi Sam & Ace, I think LOUP is a wonderful LONG TERM ETF  with confluence of IT, Robotics, Automation, Self drive Auto, AI etc:

Stay in the ‘LOUP’ of New Frontier Tech with this ETF

This article was originally published on ETFTrends.com.

The areas of robotics and artificial intelligence will lead the next wave of disruptive technologies and one ETF taking advantage of these vast opportunities is the Innovator Loup Frontier Tech ETF (LOUP) .

LOUP provides exposure to the Loup Frontier Tech Index, which is a rules-based index designed to track the performance of companies with a commanding presence in future technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), computer perception, robotics, autonomous vehicles, virtual/mixed/augmented reality, and similar disruptive innovations.

"What's really unique about our ETF is we're really playing into this next wave," said Gene Munster, Loup Ventures managing partner. "There's always little waves going on in tech, but every 10 years or so, there's a big wave and in the case of this next wave, it's a combination of five things--AI, robotics, self-driving cars, augmented reality, and virtual reality."

Doc:  Recent action looks like a break-out to me.  There will be some sort of pull-back soon and that will be an opportunity to get on board.  I'll be watching the US Open on ESPN, going to a movie and going to the NY State Fair again when things cool off.  Good trading.

Here is a NASDAQ 50-pt p/f chart.  All the lines are computer generated.  Everything seems to be falling in place.  You can see where support lies and that the mkt is still very strong.  The lines I see on the chart are fine.  Bulls are still in charge - long term.  The Slammer

LABU - Many buy signals on this chart.  See 'em?  Using the 3/6 dma can help in determining when to buy (or sell) a stock.  Good job, Doc!

Last Wed. Aug  29 for the Dow at 12 noon was a neg div. on the 10-day hourly chart.  Just now (near 3 pm) it looks like a pos. div.  Looks like 259.00 for the DIA is support.  Looks like the mkt wants to turn around and go back up now.  I'm still watchin' tennis - saw a great match last night with Nadal and Thiem - last over 4 hours.  I taped it and finished watching it at 7 a.m. this morning.  I'm still rooting for Del Potro to beat Nadal tomorrow.

I'm posting a 50-pt Nas p/f chart indicating 7850 to 7900 as areas of support.....should the Nas go down that far.  Nothing really serious as far as any big drop in the mkt goes.  I don't really expect the Nas to go under 7750 area.  If it does, we'll re-evaluate and see where support lies.  So far so good (long term).

Doc - what were you doing up around 3 a.m. - couldn't sleep?  I stopped watching it live when they split sets - around 11:30 pm......but I taped it so I got up at 6 a.m. and watched it on "live" on tape.  Unbelievable match.  I'm now thinking that this match will turn out to be "too much" for Nadal because he has to play Del Potro and he had an easier match to be Isner in four sets.  So......on the "racquet bracket" I have Del Potro who is seeded #3 to WIN THE WHOLE thing - probably over The Joker in the finals.  I think I told you I went to the Qualies on the Monday before the tournament started (for free) and watched a whole buncha matches......stayed at The Open for about 7 hours......then the five of us came back to Utica and then me and my Italian pro drove back to Syracuse.  Got back around midnight.  (here's the chart - below - which I should have posted above.....better late than never!

Doc:  Explanation of latest downtick.....foretold by rolling over action and the all important MACD leading the way south......every so slightly.  It has gone from an overbot area near the top.....to an oversold area near the bottom.....which really means we're due for some sort of rally now, huh!

I just finished watching Serena win the first set 6-3......decided to go out for 20 mins or so and came back to find out that her opponent lost her cool and lost the set by 6-0.....which is a wipe out, right!  I'm hoping the Madison Keys Naomi Osaka match will be a lot closer.  I'm thinking maybe Osaka may beat Keys tho.  We'll know very soon.  I'm looking forward to watching Del Potro vs Nadal tomorrow.  I'm still picking Del Potro to upset Nadal, the number one player in the world.

Doc:  Tick was right (at Friday's close).  As 9f approx. 7:15 a.m. Nas futures are up 42 pts......which means we rally nicely this morning.  Who knows when they fill your gap - maybe later on in the week?  The Nas went down from 8100 to 7900 area in 2 days - over 200 pts - thereby becoming oversold as indicated on my chart......We RALLY today.

Djokovic won it all.....$3.8 million.....Del Potro won approx. $1.8 million.....not bad for showing up, huh?  In the 2nd set they had a 20 MINUTE GAME.  We've played sets in 20 minutes.  Del Potro had a few chances to win that crucial game which would have put him up 5-3.......but he lost the game and as it turned out, he ended up losing the 2nd set in a tiebreaker - which meant he wasn't going to be "The Joker" yesterday.  I actually changed channels after he lost the 2nd set because I knew Juan Martin was going to lose and I didn't want to suffer in the 3rd set.  The thing they'll be talking about is Serena's behavior in the finals.  I picked Osaka to upset Serena too and was happy Serena lost to the 20-yr old.  We need new blood in the women's game.  Serena has been officially dethroned.....whether she realizes it or not.  Long live the new "queen" of tennis.  I hope you saw both finals!

Here's a 25-pt chart indicating where the market broke-out to new all time highs (bullish)......then became overbought and came down back into a solid support area and has now become oversold.  I see no overall weakness in the Nasdaq.  The TICK was right on target again and is now telling us the mkt is waayyy oversold again and now we rally.  So what else is new?

I stopped watching Del Potro after 2nd set.

Seresna acted Like a Cry BABY. She had no Class. And she would not GIVE UP. Who cares if she cheated or not in the PAST. I Know every one CHEATS when given a Chance. I  had expected Osaka to WIN.

Doc:  I, too, expected Osaka to win.  The whole thing stemmped from the referee causing the problem by penalizing Serena in the first place; had he kept his mouth shut about the so-called signalling, maybe it would not have happened the way it did.  Too bad for Serena.  Whether she knows it or not, Serena has been DE-THRONED.  Maybe it's time she retires and let somebody else get all the glory.  She can also bring her sister, Venus, with her too.  We need new blood in tennis.  Osaka seems like the ticket.....for now.

Doc - three days ago (see above).....the mkt was oversold and we had a RALLY SIGNAL.  The Nas is up 45 pts as of approx. 9 a.m. - we will continue to rally today until the tick becomes wayyyy  OVERBOT.....then w/in a day or so we will head south for awhile.  This is all I.A.W. the law of supply and demand.  I'm gonna give a tennis lesson outside this morning.  I'm glad no one on this board is near the Outer Banks in N. Carolina.

See you guys later.

It's Thurs, 9/13/18 approx. 3:57 pm.  Tick is saying the mkt was way overbot earlier in the day.  Time to take profits from the BUY SIGNAL of 4 days ago.  Nas is approx. 8002 as of 3:59 pm.....so time to take SHORT-TERM profits......a gain of over 100 points in the Nasdaq.
