Wow!!! Is right!

I hope no one here got sucker-punched into that move? Notice the high volume bar on the day of the gap higher? Those were Da Boyz who sold out to the momentum chasers, most likely....

And they probably shorted that stock so they could leverage their profits to the downside as they pulled the rug out from investors!

LouisYamada Predicted in 2011 that GOLD will be $5,000 in 2017.

Rates are entering a new phase in their cycle: Yamada

1:56 PM ET Fri, 16 Feb 2018

Bonds are entering a new rising rates cycle for the first time in decades. Technician Louise Yamada explains what this means for the market.

I am ahead of her, Um! I shorted US bonds for several weeks and made some handsome profits before she put out this announcement...

Can bonds sell off some more? Sure they can, because TLT's daily and weekly charts are bearish....below the 200 day line and in an overall downtrend....but TLT found a temporary bounce late last week off the $117.70 lateral support area and so I closed out my short on TLT once I saw the support hold up...but I am only waiting to pounce back on my,TLT puts once the bounce winds up....

As for her gold prediction, she was probably off by about 8 years....2019 might be the year of $5,000 gold if not this year...

Why, economist Jim Rickards believes that $10,000 gold is in our future....and if an unproven currency like Bitcoin could go above that price, I find it hard to believe that gold won't go there in the not too distant future....that is just my 2 cents.

PENNY STOCKS DISCUSSION - FEBRUARY 2018
Have you guys mentioned this one at all...?

It just popped up on my radar...technically, it's a penny stock (though not a sub-penny or a tiny penny)...

At an even $3.00 close on Friday... AQMS had been in a steady decline for a long time...also, it showed terrible quarterly reports on falling revenues and earnings....but I did notice that it popped up in the Barron's ( http://www.barrons.com ) screen of high call activity in the options markets...and then I pulled up a chart to notice a recent wedge line breakout on heavy volume...

That meant there was some sort of news on this one...sure enough, there was some big news on Valentine's Day...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AQMS is focused on lead battery recycling using environmentally sound practices. On 2/14/2018, the largest car battery manufacturer, Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) announced that it took a 5% stake in AQMS to harness its patented process. Also, on 12/17/2017, AQMS announced a secondary offering that took in over $14 million at a price of $2.10 to finance working capital and capital expansion. NOTE: in Barron's 2/19/18 edition, it showed 4-to-1 calls to puts on heavy options contracts volume. Keep an eye on this one. Posted by Mike on 2/18/2018.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am putting this one on my watch list...I am thinking about an investment in it while it's at around 3 bucks...this looks to be like a big turnaround story for them....

Here's an ETF that I never heard of until today...

But it came up on my radar with an extremely high SCTR Score (top 1%) from http://www.stockcharts.com ...

So, I did some research and discovered they invest in On-Line Retail businesses exclusivly with up to 25% of their investments in foreign countries, like China (think TCEHY, BABA, JD, etc...)....and in the US, think AMZN, GRPN and others...(they may not be invested in these symbols, but only suggesting names like these...do your own due diligence!)...

Then, when I saw the chart, I realized, that despite its strong gains in the last year, I see signs of STRONG ACCUMULATION on the chart...see those tall green volume bars? Those are institutional investors piling in...and also check the rising A-D and CMF and Force graphs (not shown on the FinViz chart)? Those graphs confirm the accumulation patterns I am detecting....

I would not buy it off Friday's price...it's in the upper part of the BB's and Keltner Channels...so wait for it to dip back down in to the lower half of the channel...or wait for it to tag the 50 day line again...

Doc:  I glanced at WB, BIDU and JD.  I like to go back 10 years and see what they've been doing.  In three years WB has gone from 10 to 135.....already a monstrous move.  Why didn't ANYBODY tell us to buy it when it was between 10 and 20?

BIDU....in 9 years at the bottom of '09 it, too, has gone from 15 to 240.....so what else is new?

JD - has potential......because it hasn't move up TOO HIGH....yet.  I think it went from 20 to 46 in a year and a half.....which is pretty good.  I think it has been re-accumulating in the 40's.....right now....to head much higher.

These are just my thoughts on the 3 stox you posted.  OK?

Sam

Hey Sam and Um....if you are looking for under the radar Chinese Internet stocks like Tencent, BIDU, WB and JD, here are two I can suggest...

Look at SE and SOGO...they are recent IPOs here in the US...both companies have investments from other large Chinese players...namely Tencent! I do own a position SOGO, but not in SE currently. Both companies have not yet reached their 6 month lock-up periods, so there could be more volatility ahead for both, but I do think the prices of both are a bargain compared to their growth rates...

Ace:  You got that right.  I'm not all that surprised today that the markets really didn't do all that much....with the Dow up 19 and the Nas down 17.  Why let the market keep running on an options expiration.  Last week was when everything happened.....typical.

Everything seems to correspond today with the closing volume numbers.....kinda expecting the mkts to be "flat" on an opt. expiration, so they didn't disappoint anybody, right?

The Nas closed down 17 pts to close at 7239  with negative volume being 1061 mill shares to positive volume being only 925 mill shares with a differential of a measly 136 mill shares in favor of the bears......so all is in sync.

I think Monday's a holiday, so guys, have a good, long week-end......and count your blessings!  Slammin Sam

FCX...Another dividend paycheck set up

I sold a call against my new 100 share position today...collected $67 before commission for a March 2nd $19 call...if the buyer doesn't exercise the call within 2 weeks, I will pocket the $59.55 net proceeds after commissions....this call premium represents about 3% "dividend" for only 2 weeks...

Then if I want, I can sell another call again and maybe rake in another $60 or $70 for another 2 weeks....

Theoretically (and ideally), if the FCX price remains relatively stable over time, I could keep doing this every 2 weeks....if I could pull this off over a year's time and assuming an average $60 every 2 weeks, that would be $60 x 26 "dividend paychecks" = $1,560 in dividends over a year's time...then throw in the annual dividend for some stocks on top of that (FCX does not currently pay out a dividend)....but even without the traditional divvy,  I would collect total "dividends" of $1560 in a year's time which is about an 82% annual dividend on FCX...I can't think of any CDs that pay an interest rate like that, and certainly there can't be any traditional stock dividends as high as 82%, wouldn't you agree?

Now with any luck, if FCX should drift higher over time, I might realize a capital gain once I sell the 100 shares, but regardless of where the price ends up, in theory, I can milk FCX for quite a large sum of dividends....at least that is the game plan...I will keep the board informed how this works out over time....

Besides FCX, I also have "stock dividend programs" set up on BOTZ, EDIT and XLF....... but those are on monthly "paycheck plans"...FCX is the first one I have set up on bi-weekly "paychecks."

My greatest risk with these trades would occur if the stock prices rise too high, then the calls could get exercised against me...if that happens early in the process before I can do subsequent rollovers, then I might get stopped from earning those "paychecks"...but if I do get a call exercise, I won't lose on any of these trades, but my profits will be reduced quite a bit except on EDIT, because I sold EDIT with an out of the money call...

Anyway, this is rather fascinating to me, but I am experimenting with different strategies and I think proper interpretation of charts is important to maximizing income. I would like to fine tune the process, but like anything done the first few times, I am sure there are things I could improve upon before I can get much better at it.

CMAC, it happens most years after the Chinese New Year...the algos will sell off gold...

But one thing is different this year...the US $ is much weaker, so economic fundamentals may support the price of gold once the programmed pullback runs its course?....we shall see!

One other thing about NS and NSH...both companies have seen huge insider buys in their shares at much higher prices, so I can imagine they are not happy with the recent selloff!

PCLN up $25

GOOGL Up $15.

Um, I own one call contract on NS with a $30 strike which was a new trade I announced a few days ago...expecting that it might fill the gap soon....I wasn' t paying attention to that divvy though, but I wonder if it is a sustainable divvy???

Guys:  Opportunity may be lurking today.  It's an options expiration, right?  I am suspicious that many stox will be kept "down" until options expire today......maybe even a slight down-tick on Monday morning.....and then we resume the rally slowly but surely.  None of this may happen, but just sharing my thoughts.

The TV is still showing the School shooting in Florida.  I have quite a few tennis players down there for the winter......some not all that far away.  Believe it or not a policeman who wasn't too far away decided to go down there and he caught up with the guy......who was in the vicinity.   It's a good thing he went there and decided he'd better check on this guy who had the burgundy shirt and boots on which described the suspect.  He was actually able to get away from the school.  Unbelievable.

Sam

Hey Sam, not all that much really happened today...sure, the market was kinda choppy, but when hasn't that been the case lately?

The big days were last week, especially last Friday which was one week before the monthly options were to expire....Da boyz often like to to do the big shakeout a few days before expiry these days, so no surprise about last week's action now that I think about it!

Hey Um....SQ

Here's the Finviz chart on SQuare...notice it's forming a cup-n-handle pattern within a larger symmetric triangle ....I am up a few hundred bucks on it already since my buy late last week...I think you said you were in this one too?

You cannabis traders might be interested to know that SQ is a popular way to fund sales of legal pot with credit card sales...as you probably know, most bank credit cards refuse to accept payments for pot sales, but SQ's anonymous system is helping legal pot sellers to circumnavigate the ban that some banks and credit card systems like Visa have put on their sales...

Gold Futures are continuing to move higher in Asia tonight...

One warning: The Chinese New Year begins on Friday, and this day often marks the end of jewelry purchases by Chinese citizens each year....but that being said, I think the latest gold rally is being driven by a weakening dollar this year rather than jewelry sales in China and India...

Gold futures hit $1,359 tonight....

Thanks, UM! By the way, I did learn more about NTLA as well as CRSP and EDIT in an in-depth cover story in Investor's Business Daily that came out two weekends ago. NTLA received numerous mentions as well as the other two. The writer of the article says that CRSP is ahead of the other two only because it has an actual human trial (Phase 1) under way with the FDA...

However, the article also pointed out that human anti-bodies could resist the main enzyme that both NTLA and CRSP are using. Whereas, EDIT is using modified versions of the enzyme which might see less resistance from human's immune system. I like EDIT because their gene-editing process is much faster than the other two, but for now, CRSP's system is more proven in humans than the other two.

Sam, I forgot to mention yesterday that SPY showed a follow-through day which as IBD has defined it over the years as an up day move of a major index by at least 1% in price on stronger volume than the previous day and within 7 trading days of the market reversal.

The reversal was last Friday, but as I pointed out on Monday, there was no follow-through that day due to light volume and I suggested that traders should remain cautuous, and sure enough, the Dow was down 500 points on Tuesday morning....

But yesterday was a follow-through day, and look at how things continued to move higher today, despite a bad PPI reading and a fallling dollar!

BLUE PLATE SPECIAL RESULTS....!   ÃƒÂ°Ã…¸ÂÂ´

Okay, I don't issue Blue Plate Special trades very often, and when I give one out, they are almost always very profitable! Now I know that not everyone here trades options, so not just anyone could take advantage of it....but this trade seemed so obvious to me when the market reversed and went higher starting last Friday...

If you go back to my post on Friday afternoon on 2/9 ( 6 days ago ), I said I had purchased three SDS March 16th $40 puts at $0.80 a share...the total investment ( excluding commissions ) was $240...

Today, I cashed out those 3 puts at $2.00 per share for total gross revenue of $600.

The total gross profit is $360 or 150%...in only 4 trading days!!! 😅

Now you know why I called it a Blue Plate Special because it seemed like an obviuously profitable trade set up and the cost of those puts had dropped to a very low value because the market was still jittery last Friday.

I am still holding March 9th SDS $38 puts that I bought at an earlier date and lost some money on them initially, but I added 2 low cost puts to this trade last Friday...this trade is still alive and I may cash in additional profits if the market rally can continue tomorrow and into next week...stay tuned!  ÃƒÆ’°Å¸ËœÅ½
